At Enbridge, we’re actively seeking new and improved ways to deliver energy safely, responsibly, and sustainably with the clean, green, everlasting power of New Energies, we are seeking a Manager of Underground Storage Engineering - New Energy Technologies (NET) to join our venture!
In this role, you would be accountable for delivering safe, reliable, cost-effective, and efficient Hydrogen (H2) and Carbon Dioxide (CO2) underground storage well design and drilling plans. You will have the Ownership of policies, standards, procedures, and specifications related to Enbridge’s H2 and CO2 underground storage. You would provide technical expertise, lead technology technical due diligence assessment and support Business Development’s efforts in exploring different projects while building technical committees across the company.

What You Will Do:
Develop storage reserve estimates, design and implement efficient exploitation. Assist with the planning, permitting, and execution of strategic hydrogen and CCS/CCUS projects
Lead all aspects of H2 and CO2 Underground Reservoir Engineering Assessment, Seismic surveys, Storage Well Designs, Drilling contracting strategy, Well maintenance and inspection programs, and provide an oversight and support for drilling execution
Projects Designs, and Investment’s Technical Due Diligence in coordination with Engineering and Business Development teams
Also, Support various management projects and initiatives as assigned by Director NET Technical
Lead the development of NET technical content as centralized source for developing and implementing NET projects related to Hydrogen (H2), and Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Sequestration governed by US and Canadian regulations and building on different business units Engineering technical contents and expertise
Lead NET technical committee with members participating across Enbridge, Technical training development, share lessons learned, and continuous improvement of company standards
Actively Participate in external technical committees, conferences and panels. Advocating for Enbridge energy transition plans. Build collaborative partner engagement and manage tasks outsourced to engineering consultants

Requirements

Approximately 80% Office Environment, 20% field office or facilities outside operations in all types of weather.
15-30% travel to other company offices or meeting with clients, consultants, contractors, or attending an external session
May be exposed to work near moving mechanical parts
Work near toxic or caustic chemicals

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:
Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 45 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.

About the Company

Bachelor’s degree in chemical, petroleum, mechanical, geoscience or other similar engineering fields or an equivalent combination of experience and education
10 years hands on experience in reservoir engineering, well design, drilling planning and execution in the oil and gas industry
Minimum of 2 years in engineering leadership position
Professional engineering or geologist designation in either USA or Canada
Have a valid passport and able to travel between USA and Canada
Proven knowledge of Natural Gas, Crude Oil, Hydrogen, and CO2 production and storage wells
Solid grasp of engineering and operations of compressors, pumps, gas turbine, glycol and amin systems
Experience with writing and implementing specifications, standards, and procedures.
Familiar with US and Canadian natural gas regulations.
